isana academies

ISANA Academies is a network of public charter schools in Los Angeles. Here I showcase a selection of design proposals and completed projects I’ve created for them, all tailored to reflect the organization’s educational mission and diverse community.

Christmas card

For ISANA’s end-of-year holiday card, the goal was to create an inclusive design that reflected the diverse cultural celebrations of the school community. For this design I highlighted traditions such as Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, emphasizing unity, joy, and shared values across cultures. The illustration was playful and colorful, representing the variety of students and stories within the ISANA network.

The Lion King Playbill poster

Based on a background image and brand guidelines provided by Disney, I was assigned to design the poster layout for ISANA’s student performance of The Lion King (Summer 2025). The work involved placing the typography and event details thoughtfully over the existing artwork, ensuring readability while respecting the visual integrity and licensing conditions of the official materials, as well as adapting each poster to each of the seven ISANA Academies.

Stickers

For ISANA Academies’ merchandising, I developed a series of sticker designs inspired by the meaning of the word Isana(“sun”). Using geometric shapes—such as triangles and circles—I created various stylized sun icons in the school’s official color palette. The result is a cohesive and vibrant set of designs that can be used across merchandise while visually reinforcing the identity of the network.

PBIS Rules redesign for Nascent Isana Academy

This is a redesign proposal for the PBIS rules poster at Nascent ISANA Academy. In the before-and-after comparison below, you can see how the updated version uses clearer structure, bright visuals, and the circular sun motifs introduced in previous projects—such as the sticker series—to maintain a consistent visual language across all materials, reinforcing both branding and student engagement.
